It’s a campaign that is growing and takes place on the first
shopping Saturday in December each year. The long term aim is to have a lasting
impact on small businesses.
This is
something I wholeheartedly support. In West Sussex one of our priority areas is
the economy – we recognise how important it is to have a busy and successful
economy. This is both for the county as a whole and at a local community level.
So if you need
to go shopping on Saturday, whether it’s Christmas shopping or for one or two
top-up purchases, why not do your bit and support your local high street?
We’ve got some
cracking independent businesses across West Sussex that provide a range of
things, from specialist food producers to village shops to small boutiques.
Small Business
Saturday is an excellent initiative which appears to be going from strength to
strength, providing a focus on the importance of our independent businesses.
So happy
shopping, and don’t forget about your community high street if you are out and
about this weekend.
